Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Freight Train In Selma

SELMA — A pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a freight train near the U.S. Highway 70 overpass behind the Johnston Plaza shopping center.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. The Selma Police Department is leading the investigation.
This marks the second fatal pedestrian-train collision in Johnston County this past week. Around 12:43 p.m. Sunday, a separate incident resulted in the death of a man who was struck by a train near Fuller Street in the Smithfield town limits.
Investigations into both fatalities remain ongoing.

Two Padestrians killed by freight trains in three days is something fishy either the victims have bad awareness on upcoming trains or sometimes these victims try to hitch a ride to the freight train but they got into trouble jumping into the train and they died accidently or sadly it’s just suicidal.Prayers goes out to the victims
