Touch-A-Truck Celebrates 10th Anniversary In Downtown Smithfield

SMITHFIELD — The Junior Women’s League of Smithfield (JWL) will mark a major milestone this fall as it hosts the 10th Annual Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The popular community celebration will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Downtown Smithfield and is expected to be the largest and most exciting installment yet.
Designed to delight children and families across Johnston County, Touch-A-Truck offers a hands-on experience that allows young visitors to get up close with a variety of vehicles. From emergency response units to tractors, construction machinery, farm equipment, and service trucks, the event provides a safe and interactive way for kids to explore the tools used by the people who serve, protect, and build the community.
In addition to the impressive lineup of vehicles, this year’s event will feature a wide array of family-friendly attractions. The Little Wheelers Playland will include bounce houses, games, face painting, and special guest appearances, accessible with a $5 all-access pass. Children can also enjoy train rides for $2 each, and families can refuel at the Fueling Station Food Court, which will host a variety of local food trucks.
Swag bags, games, and surprise activities will be scattered throughout the day, ensuring fun for all ages. Admission to the event is free, and both cash and credit cards will be accepted for all additional activities and food purchases.
Proceeds from Touch-A-Truck support the JWL’s mission to serve Johnston County. Funds raised go toward local initiatives such as the Johnston County Blessing Boxes, scholarships for women, and Community Impact Grants benefiting area nonprofits that support women and children. Since 2016, the Junior Women’s League has reinvested over $195,000 into the community and contributed more than 17,500 volunteer hours.
the Touch-A-Truck event continues to be a highlight on Johnston County’s fall calendar, bringing families together while giving back to the community.
