Selma Mayor Selected To Statewide Leadership Cohort

SELMA – The Town of Selma has announced that Mayor Byron McAllister has been selected to join the sixth cohort of ElevateNC: Higher Education, a highly respected statewide leadership initiative led by The Hunt Institute.

This program unites 22 influential leaders from across North Carolina—including state senators, mayors, college presidents, and business executives—who will work together to strengthen higher education access and workforce development across the state. The cohort’s mission supports North Carolina’s bold goal of helping two million residents earn postsecondary credentials by 2030.

Through a partnership with myFutureNC, ElevateNC connects leaders from every corner of the state to share ideas, build partnerships, and create real solutions that align educational opportunities with local workforce needs.

The six-month program kicks off this month with sessions in Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh.

Mayor McAllister will represent the Selma community and contribute to the future of education and workforce growth in North Carolina.

  1. Councilmember Publicly Criticizes Mayor Over Meeting Dispute…….is this the same person? I’m not sure what the criteria is for selection.

    • And what? Is this a response to a question or comment made or to the article in general? Aren’t you supposed to be running for an office? Vagueness is not a good quality. Don’t come across obtuse or votes will see just that.
