Burglars Hit Local Toy Store, Steal $1,000 In Pokémon Cards
CLEVELAND COMMUNITY — A local collectibles shop was the target of an early morning break-in Thursday, with thieves making off with valuable Pokémon cards and cash.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the burglary occurred around 3:29 a.m. at New World Toys and Collectibles, located at 86 Technology Drive, Garner in the Cleveland community. Authorities say the suspect or suspects shattered the store’s front glass door to gain entry.
Once inside, they stole an estimated $1,000 worth of Pokémon trading cards, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5020.
