Smithfield Man Charged In Child Sex Offense Case
SMITHFIELD – A 61-year-old Smithfield man is out of custody after posting a $100,000 secured bond following his arrest in connection with a child sex offense investigation.

Santiago Consuelo, of North Third Street, was arrested on October 3 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office after a five-month investigation. He is charged with statutory sex offense with a child by an adult and taking indecent liberties with a child.
According to authorities, the alleged offense occurred in 2024, but was not reported until May 2025. Because the case involves a juvenile, investigators have not released further details.
Court records indicate that Consuelo’s bond was posted by a bail bond company on October 7, allowing for his release from the Johnston County Detention Center.

He shouldn’t have been able to bond out…period! This is a slap in the face of the under age CHILD. Justice system? Hardly!

You almost remembered the first post verbatim but not quite.
The names of judges should be included when they report the bond amount. This is sickening.
Why? What would you do if THEY did?
he is a dummy for doing that

Perverts…the obsession with sexual deviancy in this world is disgusting. No one thinks with their brain anymore…just their private parts.

We should change the consent age from 16 to 21 . I got daughters
Honestly no one should judge a book by its cover. Just because the news median said he done it does not mean it. I don’t know him personally but sometimes. People can be framed for things they did not do just because someone is mad at them.
You do realize that his bond was only $15000.00 with a bondsman or if he had cash to get out. Bet the court system will never see him again as he is gone out of the states. There should have been NO BOND until trial date. This is why the American citizens have lost faith in the judicial system.
The right to a bond not too high just to keep someone until court is in the constitution. There are other ways to handle these kinds of people.
