2 Year-Old Murdered, Mother’s Boyfriend Arrested
JOHNSTON COUNTY – A 30 year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of his girlfriend’s 2 year-old son.
Lance Nolan Pearce of the 10400 block of Cleveland Road, Garner is being held in the Johnston County Detention Center in Smithfield without bond.
On July 4 around 12:40 a.m., the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Wake Med reporting an injured 2 year-old child was undergoing treatment for severe head trauma and bruising about his body.
Deputies learned Johnston County EMS had responded to an address on Cleveland Road around 6:02 p.m. July 3 for a report the child was having a seizure. The child was transported by EMS to Wake Med.
Prior to Johnston County deputies being notified, the Johnston County Department of Social Services had responded to the Cleveland Road home. Social workers went to the address to conduct a welfare check on two other children, ages 2 and 3, who also lived at the address.
Deputies learned social workers removed the two other children from the home. They were taken to Wake Med for evaluation.
Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to the home address of the injured child on Cleveland Road after being notified.
Detectives spoke with Lance Nolan Pearce who stated he was the live-in boyfriend of the injured child’s mother, Kayla Michelle Blue.
Pearce agreed to voluntarily speak with the investigators at the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. After speaking with detectives, Lance Nolan Pearce was charged with intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. He was initially held under a half million dollar bond.
A search warrant was applied for and received to conduct a search of the home.
On July 6, two year-old Jensen Scott Jackson died as a result of his injuries.
On July 7, charges against Lance Nolan Pearce were upgraded to murder. He was ordered held without bond on the murder charge.
The investigation remains ongoing and no additional details are being released at this time.

And we the people will pay for his lifelong imprisonment while this 2 year old’s life was cut severely short by this sorry excuse of a man. If seeing things like this don’t make you want to *** this piece of ****’s **** **, seek help.

@Tell the truth – glad to know you believe in Jesus and understand that evil exists because we live in a fallen world. If we were perfect, we wouldn’t have the need for a perfect savior. Mom’s poor choices led to her dating an evil man. Sad situation for the innocent victim(s). Maybe the other two children will have a better chance at a good life.
Social workers removed 2 of the children previously, but left this one?!?! They deserve a portion of the blame.
Read again. They removed the other 2 children after this poor baby arrived at the hospital, but before deputies arrived to investigate. Social services must have hauled butt to get there asap to get the other children
Once the 2 year old showed up at the hospital beaten, DSS was called, they then went to the home and removed the 2 other kids. It’s not like they removed 2 and left one to die.
Go back and re-read the article. It’s not written very clearly but it doesn’t state the other two were taken out and the one who died was left there.
Reading is that hard for you? They removed the other 2 children after the incident.
No the other two were removed AFTER the incident. Although all three of them probably should have been removed a long time ago.

This makes me feel all kinds of emotions. Mad, sad, grief, MADDDDD. Thank goodness the other children were removed from the home.
My question is…. Where is/was the mother during all of this? To be sure, that wasn’t the first time he had abused one of her children. WHYYYY were they left alone with him?
