10 Pounds Of Marijuana Seized During Traffic Stop

SELMA – A routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 70 near Selma led to a significant drug seizure, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 13, a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office SAFE Team stopped a vehicle for speeding. During the stop, a search of the vehicle revealed a duffle bag in the trunk containing several vacuum-sealed packages. The packages contained approximately 10 pounds of marijuana.
The estimated street value of the seized marijuana is around $57,000.
Two individuals were taken into custody at the scene. Their names have not yet been released, pending further investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
