Hospice Nurse And Her Husband Stole Prescription Medication Meant For Patients, Authorities Say

HARNETT COUNTY – A home health hospice nurse and her husband are accused of stealing prescription medication meant for patients.

A joint investigation by the Dunn Police Department and Harnett County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrests today (Wednesday) of Juana Nicole Hull, 42, and her husband, Robert Wayne Hull, 38, of Lillington.

In April 2025, authorities were alerted by management at Liberty Home Health and Hospice in Dunn concerning a possible case of prescription fraud involving hospice nurse Juana Nicole Hull.

The investigation allegedly revealed that between January and April 2025, and on multiple occasions, Juana and Robert Hull diverted controlled prescription medications from several pharmacies during her employment at Liberty Home Health and Hospice.

On May 21, the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the couple’s home on Decoy Spread Place in Lillington.

Both Juana and Robert Hull were arrested and taken to the Harnett County Detention Center.

Juana Nicole Hull is facing 18 felony charges. They include 4 counts of obtaining a controlled substance through misrepresentation, fraud, or forgery; 4 counts of embezzling or diverting a controlled substance as a registrant, practitioner, or employee; 4 counts of trafficking opium or heroin; and 6 counts of conspiracy to traffic opium or heroin.

Robert Wayne Hull, 38, faces 12 felony charges. They include six counts of obtaining a controlled substance through misrepresentation, fraud or forgery and 6 counts of trafficking opium or heroin. A review of the warrants indicate many of the thefts involved oxycodone, commonly prescribed to patients for acute pain management.

Juana Hull was issued a $150,000 secured bond. Robert Hull received a $100,000 secured bond.
