Arrest Made After Stolen Car Recovered

BENSON – Authorities have arrested a man they said was driving a stolen car.

Jeffrey Lewis Armstrong Jr., 33, of Greenleaf Road, Angier was arrested June 17 around 12:30 p.m. by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies reportedly found Armstrong operating a stolen 2013 Chevy Impala on Highway 210 near Highway 50. The vehicle had stolen from a 79 year-old Benson man.

Armstrong was charged with felony possession of a stolen vehicle. He was held on a $7,500 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.
