Firearm, Illegal Blue Lights Seized From Driver, JCSO Says

PRINCETON – A driver is facing charges after reportedly having blue lights illegally installed on his civilian vehicle.

Raekwon Unique Wallace, age 29, of Goldsboro was spotted behind the wheel of a red SUV with flashing blue lights on US 70 near Princeton around 7:43 p.m. Friday, July 4.

Wallace reportedly told Johnston County deputies he accidentally turned the blue lights on and that he only used them in case of an emergency.

It is illegal to possess, install, activate or operate a blue light in any vehicle in North Carolina except for publicly owned vehicles used by law enforcement.

Deputies said they also found a loaded KelTec Sub-2000 9mm gun under the seat of the SUV.

Wallace was cited for possession of a blue light not used for law enforcement purposes, carrying a concealed weapon, and a window tint violation. He was released at the scene.

The blue lights and firearm were seized as evidence.

  1. “Released at the scene”?!?!? He must have friends in high places. #VoteOutIncumbents

  2. They’re not arrestable offenses. You can carry a firearm in NC as long as you have no prior felony convictions. They only seize vehicles if you’re fleeing and eluding, fleeing & eluding to resist arrest , or fleeing & eluding during the commission of a crime..
