JOHNSTON COUNTY — A Garner man was injured in a shooting that occurred during a physical altercation over a firearm in the Cleveland community.

According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, in the 200 block of Duchess Drive, off Pierce Road.

Investigators said the 20-year-old victim was walking in the area when there was a confrontation with a male acquaintance. An argument reportedly broke out between the two, during which the victim produced a firearm.
