Fatal Crash On I-95 Under Investigation
DUNN – One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Harnett County.
The fatal collision occurred in the northbound lanes of I-95 between mile markers 72 and 73. The driver of a pickup died after the vehicle struck the rear of a tanker truck. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic in the area was significantly impacted for several hours as emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the wreckage.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending family notification.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.

I95 is a nightmare . Progress on the work being done in this area is glacially slow . I drive it every week and it’s hard to see any progress whatsoever.
