Police Identify Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Clayton Boulevard

CLAYTON — Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck while crossing Clayton Boulevard (U.S. Highway 70 Business) last week.

Johnny Galliher, 79, of Clayton, was hit by a Toyota SUV around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, near the intersection of Clayton Boulevard and Enterprise Drive.

According to the Clayton Police Department, Galliher had just left the Dunkin’ Donuts located on Enterprise Drive and was attempting to cross the busy roadway. He successfully crossed the westbound lanes and reached the median, but was struck by the SUV as he tried to cross the eastbound lanes.

Eastbound lanes were closed for approximately three hours while the collision was investigated.

  1. I watched a clerk at AutoZone do a thorough inspection of a $100 bill the other day before he accepted it. You can’t be too careful.

  2. That’s sad. Probably his only enjoyment going to dunkin dounts, and that happen. I have a hard time believing that car couldn’t slow down in enough time. That’s sad.
