Thief Leaves Blood Behind During Home Break-In
ANGIER – A Johnston County family returned from vacation on August 4 to find their home on Stancil Drive had been burglarized.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect broke a side window to enter the home and apparently injured himself in the process. Investigators recovered a bloody napkin and a piece of clothing left behind at the scene.
The thief stole approximately $8,000 worth of items, including a large amount of jewelry and 12 throwing knives. The blood evidence has been sent to the NC SBI Crime Lab for DNA testing, and deputies are actively pursuing leads in the case.
