No Charges Filed After DoorDash Driver Bitten By Dog
SELMA — A DoorDash delivery driver was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being bitten by a dog at a residence near Selma, but authorities say no criminal charges will be filed against the homeowner.
The incident occurred around 6:51 p.m. on Lizzie Mill Road, when a 44-year-old man from Four Oaks arrived to deliver food. As he approached the front of the home, a dog reportedly burst through a closed storm door and bit the driver on the leg.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the home’s main door was open, but the screen door was shut. Investigators determined that the dog forced its way through the storm door and that the homeowner did not let the animal out.
The driver sustained a severe bite wound to his leg and was transported by Johnston County EMS to WakeMed for treatment.
After investigating the incident authorities said no criminal charges would be filed.
Johnston County Animal Control assisted with the case.

put that mutt down and put the owner in jail
For what reason? Don’t be a fool!
The dog needs to be put down because it bit a person for no reason. The owner is probably about to receive some paperwork from court about a large civil claim.
The dog was in the house and broke through a screen door protecting his property. The dog was not loose or roaming around unattended or unsupervised.
This is what Door Dashers deal with daily so instead of giving the guy crap or going after the dog, lets look at the real problem…NO TIPPERS! These are the scorge of humanity and unless something is down, that type of ungrateful behavior will grow and take over. It’s already started…people are ruder now than any time in history. So try something different today and be nice, say thank you and TIP YOUR DOORDASHER!
The way door dash been messing up orders lately they should make everything Dasher watch the video of this lol
Door Dash doesn’t mess up the orders, the restaurants do. In fact, half the time we can’t even look in the bag cause it’s stapled shut. How many drivers have you stiffed cause the restaurant messed up your order?
If your dog is gonna bite me and get away with it I’m going to chuck your DoorDash order across the street and let you go find it. Enjoy your Chicken a la Asphalt while I go get 80 different rabies shots at the hospital. Ridiculous the owner is improperly housing a violent animal and there’s no consequences for it
You are ridiculous! The owner wasn’t “improperly housing a violent animal”, if he/she was then charged would’ve been filed. The dog was protecting it’s property. You’re also being ridiculous assuming you would need rabies shots. My dogs (for example) are up to date on their vaccinations so you getting rabies shots would be a waste of your time and money. Why would you assume that dog wasn’t up to date on its vaccines?
