Tractor Trailers Collide On US 70

PRINCETON – Two tractor trailers collided Thursday morning on US 70 at Pine Street in Princeton.

Despite the serious damage, no injuries were reported.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the first semi was on Pine Street attempting to make a left turn to travel westbound on US 70. A second semi traveling eastbound struck the back corner of the trailer in the intersection, crossed the median, and came to a stop in the westbound lane.

The driver of the first semi said the trailer was brand new and was in service for the first day.

Princeton Fire, Johnston County EMS, State Highway Patrol, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, and NCDOT responded to the scene.
