SUV Strikes Fire Hydrant And Utility Pole
KENLY – One person was transported to Wake Med following an accident, Thursday morning.

The crash occurred around 7:00am on Beulahtown Road, just off NC 222 West.
A black SUV ran off the road striking a fire hydrant, shearing it off at the base. The vehicle then collided with a utility pole causing it to snap. A power line fell across the highway.
The female driver was transported by Johnston County EMS to the hospital with unknown injuries.

A power outage was reported but it was isolated to just a few nearby homes. A Duke Energy contractor responded to replace the broken utility pole.
Charges are pending.
