Garner 4 Year-Old Drowns In Carteret County

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 4 year-old from our area. It happened at the Goose Creek Camp Ground around 9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14.

According to the sheriff’s office, the drowning happened in a pond located within the camp ground.

Life saving efforts were performed by bystanders until first responders arrived. The child was transported to Carteret Health Care by ambulance where he was later pronounced dead

The child, who has been identified as Brayden Clay Edwards, was with his parents at the camp ground. The family was visiting from Garner.

Sheriff Asa Buck extended his condolences to the family and friends of Brayden during this difficult time.
