Two-Vehicle Collision Causes Power Outage

FOUR OAKS – A T-bone collision at a rural Johnston County intersection Thursday night led to a power outage and sent two people to the hospital.

The accident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Webb Mill Road and Thompson Road. According to authorities, both vehicles left the roadway following the impact. One vehicle struck a utility pole guy wire, causing a localized power outage in the surrounding area. The pole itself was not broken, but the damage was enough to disrupt service.

Johnston County EMS transported two individuals to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released. Blackman’s Crossroads Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
