Eastern Carolina Medical Center Announces 2025 Scholarship Winners

BENSON – Eastern Carolina Medical Center (ECMC) and Dr. P.K. Vyas have announced the 2025 ECMC Scholarship winners.

Every year, Eastern Carolina Medical Center presents Triton High School, Midway High School and South Johnston High School with scholarships based on academics, extracurricular activities and need. They are presented to those pursuing an education in the medical field.

Dr. Vyas founded Eastern Carolina Medical Center after he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Cooke County Hospital in Chicago. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. A native of India, Dr. Vyas attended medical school at Baroda Medical College in Gujarat, India. Dr. Vyas obtained his U.S. citizenship shortly after moving to North Carolina.

Dr. Vyas has been in practice for over 38 years in Benson. 

Dr. Vyas has always felt that giving back to the communities that have given him so much, was of utmost importance. During his years of practice in Benson, he has been instrumental in countless community projects and has provided resources to meet the needs of many worthwhile organizations. He is excited about being able to invest in future medical professionals and sends congratulations to the winners.
