Benson Police Searching For Vehicle Involved In Serious Hit-And-Run Crash

BENSON – The Benson Police Department is actively searching for a vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run crash that occurred Friday afternoon, leaving one person hospitalized with significant injuries.
The incident took place shortly after 12:00 p.m. near the intersection of West Parrish Drive and South Lincoln Street. According to Police Chief Greg Percy, a 53-year-old Benson resident was riding a scooter when they were struck by a white Ford Explorer—believed to be a 2015 model or newer.
The driver of the SUV fled the scene, heading westbound on Parrish Drive. Authorities have since released images of the suspect vehicle captured on a nearby home security camera and are asking for help from the public to identify the driver.

The scooter rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
