Former Dollar General Employee Charged With Embezzlement
MICRO — A former employee at a Dollar General store in Johnston County is facing embezzlement charges after authorities say she stole over $1,600 from the retailer through fraudulent transactions.
Lannie Briana Guin, 30, of Micro Road W, Selma, was arrested on September 3 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say Guin was employed at the Dollar General store in Micro when the alleged thefts occurred.
According to the sheriff’s office, the store manager reported in May 2025 that suspicious refund activity had been uncovered. After an internal review, it was determined that between March and May 2025, Guin had allegedly processed a series of fake returns and kept the refunded cash, totaling $1,657.
Guin has been charged with one felony count of embezzlement. She was released from custody on a written promise to appear in court.
