Fire Destroys Downtown Dunn Business

DUNN – Fire personnel from Harnett, Johnston, and Sampson counties responded to a commercial structure fire Tuesday night in Downtown Dunn.

Around 8:40pm, a Dunn police officer on routine patrol spotted smoke coming from Riverside Florist on S. Clinton Avenue.

The business was closed at the time of the fire.

The florist was a complete loss, however, the quick notification of the fire by the alert policeman and the immediate response of firefighters prevented flames from extending to adjacent businesses.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
