Damaged Roadways Reopened

The NC Department of Transportation has reopened a damaged roadway ahead of scheduled.  On Wednesday, the DOT reopened Lake Wendell Road near Highway 96 North.

An upgraded pipe was installed after August flooding damaged drainage pipes underneath the roadway as well as the shoulder and pavement.  The DOT also reopened nearby Old Eason Road this week.
