Two Hospitalized Following Four-Vehicle Crash

JOHNSTON COUNTY – Two people were hospitalized Friday morning after a four-vehicle collision that caused major traffic delays in western Johnston County.

The crash occurred around the morning rush hour at the intersection of NC Highway 210 and Jackson-King Road, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a dump truck was heading westbound on NC 210 when a Ford van, traveling in the opposite direction, attempted to turn left onto Jackson-King Road. During the turn, the van was struck by the oncoming dump truck.

The impact pushed the Ford into a Toyota SUV that was stopped in the eastbound left turn lane. At the same time, the dump truck continued forward and hit a Honda, which was also stationary behind the Toyota. A nearby power pole was also struck during the collision.

Emergency crews transported two individuals to WakeMed Hospital. Their current conditions have not been released.

The accident led to heavy traffic congestion in the area as first responders worked to clear the scene.

The State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation.
