Trend Watch: Art Inspired

menswear art 9Over the last few years, we’ve seen menswear become more than hats, graphic tees and sneakers. It’s evolved to have its own trends and has surprised us along the way. We love how bold it’s become. We often see womenswear borrow from menswear, but other than floral prints, we don’t see menswear take ideas from womenswear. Until now, that is. We’ve seen the pop art trend take over the runways and street style scenes, and now art inspired prints are seeping into men’s fashion. WhyRed, Kenzo and Soulland are just a few examples of brands ahead of the game, taking advantage of it before it becomes a megatrend. You might not find this trend in every store just yet, but Farfetch is ahead of the game with multiple art inspired garments in their product offering. It’s true that it’s largely found in designer pieces, but it won’t be long until it’s trickled down to your favorite stores as well.

Now for some of our favorite art inspired looks so far!

They work so well because the neutral beige leather balances the primary color paint drops. These sneakers are a fun and easy way to spice up any outfit.

James Long

Unlike the womenswear looks, this shirt keeps the bright colors at bay. This makes it easier to wear this shirt no matter the season.

If you like the bright colored feel of pop art, you’ll love this backpack. Even with the bold colors, their face print backpack bag gives off a dark, satirical vibe that’s perfect for fall and winter. If you like this, then check out their graphic skate shoe.

Issey Miyake Men

If you’re more minimalistic, you don’t need to avoid this trend. This abstract take on the classic t-shirt is sleek and neutral. The deep teal is subtle and striking.

If you want something really unique, this print is it. The multicolored brush stroke print will definitely draw the eye to you!

Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus

If you’re into the pop art trend, these hand painted sneakers are for you. They feature bold, shocking colors that are anything but subtle, and they’re truly art being they are hand painted.

It’s still a mini trend right now, but keep your eyes peeled. We see this trend blowing up and gaining a huge following. Are you loving this trend as much as we are? Leave us a comment, or tweet us with your opinion! Twitter = @The_CoReport & Instagram @TheCoReport
