What’s In My Makeup Bag? Featuring Shahirah Ahmed

My makeup regime is super fast and easy! I don’t have the patience to put on a lot of makeup and facial products, so I go for an effortless natural look. I am slowly learning about more products and different techniques, however, below is a list of my “everyday” makeup that I know will never fail me.

1. NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30

This is my favorite tinted moisturizer! I have oily skin but I love the dewy look when it comes to tinted coverage, so the product is perfect for oil control and achieves my desired look. I substitute foundation for tinted moisturizer when I want to achieve a more natural everyday look.

I have gotten so many compliments on my lashes when wearing this mascara! People have asked me on several occasions if I was actually wearing false lashes. I love that this mascara is inexpensive and at your local drugstore! in my opinion, there’s no need to purchase expensive mascaras.

3. Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer, Rosy Glow

This product is definitely worth its price! It not only does a great job moisturizing, but it also controls extra oil. I use this product right after washing my face and applying my NARS foundation. If used moderately, it lasts for an extremely long time!

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, Sun Dipped

This highlighter is everything! I love that there are four different options in the palette, which are great for ethnic women with darker skin tones. I use this glow kit when I want to bring a little more life and shine to my face!

5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow
Anastasia Beverly Hills is absolutely essential to life! I have tried several different eyebrow techniques and this gel-like product used with an angled brush is the best brow product I’ve discovered. I can’t really live without it!
6. Carmex

Another essential! I always keep a tube of Carmex in arms reach. Using matte lipsticks can destroy my lips by drying them out, so Carmex thus far is the only lip moisturizer that noticeably works for me.

7. MAC Fluidline, Blacktrack
This gel liner is also used with an angled brush and I’ve found that it’s super easy to apply! I use the darkest pigment for more of a dramatic look even on my natural “on-the-go” days. This eyeliner with a subtle or dramatic cat-eye really makes my eyes pop.
