James Ravon Beasley, Sr.

James Ravon Beasley, Sr., 81, of Selma, peacefully passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. He was born May 24, 1944, and was the son of the late Jesse & Florence McLamb Beasley of Benson.

He enjoyed telling stories of his mischievous youth and working along side friends each weekend at the local flea market. He was a kind and generous soul that would help others even when he had little to give.
To honor JR’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private graveside service for the immediate family with Reverend Brian Davis of the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church officiating.
He is survived by his sister; Shirley Cash of Canton, NC, sons; James Ravon Beasley, Jr. (Belinda) of Selma, Tim Beasley (Katherine) of Princeton, Jason Strickland (Gail) of Sanford, Michael Strickland ( Kimberly) of Sanford, Terry Beasley of Selma, daughter; Amanda Beasley of Pine Level, wife; Joyce Beaslley of Pine Level; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clayton Rehabilitation and Health Center, the 2nd floor ICU and 3rd floor staff at UNC Health Johnston at Clayton, and staff at SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. We will never be able to express our profound appreciation for the professionalism, support, compassion, and care that was given during this time not only for JR but also for the family.
