Dr. Eric Bracy Named Finalist For Superintendent Of South Carolina School District
ROCK HILL, SC – Johnston County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy was named a finalist for the superintendent of the Rock Hill School District in South Carolina, officials announced Wednesday.
Dr. Bracy has been superintendent of Johnston County Public Schools since July 1, 2020.
The two other finalists for the South Carolina school vacancy are Dr. Deborah Elder, Deputy/Chief Operating Officer of the Iowa Department of Education and Dr. Joshua P. Starr, a former school superintendent in Montgomery County, Maryland and Stamford, Connecticut.
Prior to being hired by the JCPS system in 2020, Dr. Bracy served as Sampson County School Superintendent for 6-1/2 years.
All three finalists for the Rock Hill Schools job will meet with citizens and school staff during a meeting Thursday, March 15th at 6:30pm at the Rock Hill Schools District Office on East Black Street in Rock Hill, SC.
The Rock Hill district is 20 miles south of Charlotte, with an enrollment of 16,300 students across 24 schools. The district has approximately 2,400 employees and is the second largest school district in York, South Carolina, according to their website.

The two biggest issues with these appointments are always that one there is not defined job description including educational requirements and professional success metrics and second there is a school board of political appointees or elected who don’t know what they are doing. Looks like both apply here

No, what is sad is that you assumed this was based on race. No where in any of the posts do people even come close to mentioning anything about race. You just assume it is because you can’t stand to think that he has failed in his position and has done more underhanded things than you will ever know about it.
As for your kindergarten argument about the “buddy system,” based on what you are saying is that everyone else is doing it so he should be allowed to as well. Meaning that the broken system keeps on going around and around. Also, who does “Y’all people” refer to? Again, an assumption that we are friends with these other people, or an assumption that we are not the same skin tone as him? Let’s be a little clearer in our posts and maybe we can have an intelligent conversation. We want who would be best for our kids and is of good moral and ethical standing.
