Drug Trafficking Suspect Arrested

SELMA – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office STAR Team and Narcotics Division executed a search warrant in the Selma city limits, Friday morning.
The target of the investigation was 44 year-old Jerome Pratt. Agents had to make forcibly entry into his apartment, owned by the Selma Housing Authority, on S. Sellers Street.
Inside the apartment, agents reportedly found 170 grams of marijuana and a firearm.
Pratt had been under investigation since April 2025. Agents said they were able to buy a total of 340 grams of suspected methamphetamine from Jerome Pratt during undercover drug purchases. The methamphetamine had an estimated street value of $34,000.
Pratt was arrested at his apartment and charged with five counts of trafficking methamphetamine, two counts of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Pratt was confined in the Johnston County Detention Center under a $1,050,000 secured bond.
The Selma Police Department assisted with the execution of the search warrant.

He was using a government home paid for by taxpayers to sell mad drugs.
Would have gotten less of a bond if he was a pedi.
Pedis then bond out and go back on the streets preying on more children.
I am NOT saying “it’s just drugs & a gun” but we need tougher laws and high bonds for ABUSERS to the innocent children, women AND animals.
Backwards judicial system here.
well said..
Living in government houseing
He should lose the ability to live in government housing, besides prison, ever again!
Great job to all the LEOs involved.
They need to abolish section 8. Nothing good comes out of there.
Marijuana? The same “drug” you can legally buy synthetic versions of at a vape shop? Seems like the police just needed to hit a quota.
There was a lot more than marijuana listed in the article. Your reading comprehension skills need some work. And if you’re trying to be funny, your sense of humor could use some work, too. Try harder next time.
They been buying meth from dood for months. He’s a trafficker in many different drugs living off the government. Read the story, that just happens to be all he had on him at the time. Geez
Let’s not forget possession of a firearm by a felon. If you think that ok, then you are a moron. Crawl back into the hole you came out of. LEOs have no quotas to meet.
Now remove his stuff from the housing and place someone who needs it. Give them drug tests and criminal background checks before giving them keys
….and THAT, Dear Ones, is what your and my hard earned money pays for….lazy arse women having babies one after another feeding and shacking up with this type of BS!!!! Yep, I said it.
Dis be totally wack. Dem po po’s jess pickin’ on a brudda tryin to be making a living….be. Ya naw I sayin?
How does a convicted felon get free housing????
I’m glad public housing for a convicted felon also afforded him the ability to save money to hire his own attorney. Having to pay all of my own bills. I’d be lucky to afford an attorney for a speeding ticket. Let alone all his charges.
As a convicted felon, a person in the USA could even be president!
