Large Gas Line Break Reported In Selma

SELMA – A large natural gas line was ruptured by a construction crew Wednesday morning behind Eastfield near Interstate 95.

Selma Fire and Piedmont Natural Gas representatives have been on the scene for several hours.

Repairs were progressing slowly Wednesday afternoon due to crews battling excessive heat and having to temporarily pause work because of lightning in the area.

No injuries have been reported.
