BlackBox Curation: February Reveal!!

Use COCO10 to receive 10% off on your Blackbox Curation subscription box!!!

I can’t tell you guys enough how much fun I had with February’s Blackbox Curation reveal! I had a chance to review 5 different products, all from 5 different categories. Read my review on each of the items below!

Southern Girl Granola

I felt like I had a personal connection with this product. A good friend of mine purchased a few packages of granola from this brand and raved about how good it was. I thought, “It’s granola, how good can granola be?” Yall!!! Let me tell you!! This is the BEST granola that I’ve ever tasted, seriously! Since going vegan a few months ago, I’ve been on the prowl for delicious vegan-friendly eats that I can snack on throughout the day. The Southern Girl Granola that I received came in bite-sized chunks that were perfect for eating by itself or pairing with a yogurt or salad. The flavor was cranberry, but the actual taste was so much more. With every bite I took of Southern Girl Granola, I had a medley of rich and delicious spices covering my taste buds.

“Follow Your Calling & Not The Crowd” Print Card

Earlier this month, I participated in a #21DaySelfLoveChallenge where I would adhere to a set of daily affirmations. The print card that I received this month couldn’t have come at a better time! As a creative, there was a point in my life where I didn’t understand my journey and the path that I was on and would follow what other creatives and people in my field were doing in hopes that I would be lead to success. I did myself a HUGE injustice by following the crowd instead of following my calling. A lot of the times, even when we don’t understand our journey, it’s important for us to adhere to the path we’re on because eventually, we’ll find the door to success.

Black Don’t Crack Mirror

How many of us have heard the saying, “Black Don’t Crack”? I know I’ve heard this saying many times. This mirror was a super cute addition to this month’s Blackbox Curation reveal. I hardly ever carry mirrors in my purse anymore. This is mainly due to the fact that most mirrors are in makeup compact cases and I’ve never been a huge fan wearing makeup on a daily basis. This mirror is small enough to carry in just about anything and it’s convenient for those quick lipgloss or lipstick touch-ups. I can only imagine the looks that I will probably receive when I’m doing a quick mirror self-check in a crowd full of non-Black women and men.

Land of Milk and Honey Soap

There aren’t too many soaps that I use besides African Black Soap and Dr. Bronners. I have sensitive skin and I’m super picky about the ingredients that I use for my body. At first, I was a bit hesitant about trying out the soap that I received in this month’s subscription box, but the soap contained all natural ingredients, such as olive oil, coconut oil, mango butter, apricot oil, hemp oil, and organic shea butter. This soap was able to clean my skin without it feeling stripped of my skin’s natural oils.

Love ‘Stay Put Headband’

This headband was the last item that I received in this month’s subscription box. I haven’t been wearing many headbands as of lately since they’ve been breaking my hair off, but the design of this particular headband ensures that your tresses won’t be damaged after a day of wearing your hair up and out of your face. The band is wide enough to secure all strands in place, no matter the hair texture, and it comes with rubber on the inside so that it won’t slip off. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve put my hair up while working out only to have me constantly readjusting the headband so that it can stay where I initially placed it. I’m definitely going to add this to my rotation of workout gear.
