4 Styling Lessons Learned From Georgine’s Spring/Summer 2017 Runway Collection

4 Styling Lessons Learned From Georgine’s Spring/Summer 2017 Runway Collection

Georgine’s Spring/Summer 2017 runway collection was all about putting a twist on styling classic luxury pieces. Think of the many times you have raided your mother’s or favorite aunt’s closet to find luxury staples like a fur jacket, classic coat, or vintage accessories to pair with your already stylish ensemble. The pieces you’ve raided are a snazzy juxtaposition to either your punk-rock, urban, or tom-boyish style that totally works and keeps heads turning. “I think it is a more interesting concept of dressing, one where luxury goods coexist with rock t-shirts, intricate couture beading meets motorcycle jackets and lightweight furs are punctuated by combat boots. ” stated Georgine Ratelband, designer of Georgine. Styling yourself in juxtapositions such as combining high and low priced garments or bringing together different styling elements is the way that most young women are dressing. Overall, Georgine’s Spring/Summer 2017 runway collection was full of youthful energy, showcasing amazing, but versatile metallics that can be paired with a woman’s everyday wardrobe, upscale mesh details, and swanky furs for the upscale millennial woman.

1. Confident Women Wear Metallics

Metallic colors aren’t for women who are coy at heart. You wont see women who are insecure about their body shape or perceived flaws donning shinny show stopping metallics. Metallic colors like silver, gold, and that shiny multi-colored black hue that resembles leaked car engine fluid are colors that women should definitely incorporate into their wardrobe. Metallics tend to act as neutrals which makes it super easy to style for almost any occasion.

2. Punk Rock + Luxury = Effortless High Fashion

Georgine’s Spring Summer 2017 runway collection was inspired by the woman who paired her Trash and Vaudeville garments with her high fashion staple pieces from a luxury retailer such as Bergdorf Goodman. Think of some of your favorite fashion trendsetters. Women such as Rihanna and Zoe Kravitz are known for pairing punk-rock and hip-hop pieces with their luxurious wardrobes. Being high fashion is not always about being adorned with luxury items, but more so about the way in which you are able to style juxtapositions in an effortless manner.

3. Orange Lips Are Just As Striking As A Bold Red!

When women want to make a statement by wearing lipstick, especially a classy statement, the first color of choice that they choose are the different variety of red lipstick hues. Don’t get me wrong, you can never go wrong with a red lip color, but orange lipstick is something that is often over looked. The key to wearing an orange lip is to find a hue that’s complimentary to your skin tone. The bolder the orange the better it will look. Wearing a bold orange lip color will give off a classic vibe with a flirtatious element.

4. Red Looks AMAZING On Darker Skin Complexions

Most women who have darker skin complexions constantly stray away from bold colors for reasons such as, fear of attracting attention to their skin’s hue and not knowing which colors compliments their skin tone the best. Thanks to Georgine’s Spring Summer 2017 Collection she shows just how beautiful the contrast is when women of darker skin complexions wear bright and striking colors.
